Career

From trading floors
to FinTech products.

I started in enterprise banking systems at Standard Chartered — integrating RBI trading infrastructure with Groovy and Java. Then Rice University. Then BILL, where I've been shipping product that touches $272M in annual recurring revenue. Every jump made me a better engineer.

Problems I've solved
from the ground up.

The Solution

A multi-client analytics dashboard giving accounting firms a unified view across all clients simultaneously. Built with TanStack Table for virtualized rendering of ~10k rows without degradation, and Highcharts after a structured library evaluation across functionality, performance, and enterprise support. An AI insights layer surfaced patterns firms couldn't see in raw data.

Engineering Decisions

  • Led a team of 6 frontend engineers to deliver a market-differentiating feature on schedule
  • Solved 10k-row rendering at scale using TanStack Table virtualization. No pagination, no lag
  • Ran a structured charting library evaluation; selected Highcharts for enterprise support, customizability, and large-dataset export capabilities
  • Surfaced cross-client data: TPV amounts, bills processed, staff approval rates, operational bottlenecks
  • AI-powered insights layer identified patterns and improvement areas across firm operations
  • +40% user engagement uplift post-launch; adopted as a flagship feature for accounting firm clients
  • Set org-wide standards for TanStack Table and Highcharts, becoming the reference implementation for all data-heavy features at BILL

AI Fluency

I don't just use AI tools — I build surfaces for AI to use.

Claude Code and GitHub Copilot accelerate my development. The Invitewaale MCP server I published lets Claude create invites and manage RSVPs without touching a single button. That's a new kind of frontend engineering.

About

CS from Rice.
Built to scale.

I hold a Master of Computer Science from Rice University (GPA 3.9) — one of the top-ranked CS programs in the US. Before that, I was building full-stack financial systems at Standard Chartered, integrating enterprise trading infrastructure across global markets.

That foundation is why I build differently. I don't just ship features — I think about system design, data pipelines, and the invisible architecture that lets a product scale. At BILL, that meant owning performance engineering, driving GraphQL adoption with Apollo Client caching strategies, and setting org-wide standards for data-heavy table and charting tooling adopted across the entire frontend org.

I've also served as Scrum Master for my frontend team while doing deep performance engineering work simultaneously. The ability to lead people and optimize systems at the same time isn't common. I think of it as the whole job.

What makes me different

Computer science depth

Rice CS gave me the rigor to reason about systems, not just implement them. I think in algorithms, complexity, and correctness — then translate that into fast, resilient product code.

Friction-first thinking

Before I write a line of code, I ask: where is the friction? Every project I've shipped has been about removing a step someone was stuck on.

AI at both ends

I use AI to write faster (Claude Code), and I build products that AI can operate (MCP server). Most engineers are on one side of this line.

Visible + invisible craft

My best work is invisible. The 65% perf gain nobody noticed because the page just felt fast. The $272M funnel that just... worked.
